How HRMLESS compares
Not every AI hiring tool is built for the same job, and each company brings its own strengths. Here’s what some of our competitors do well, and where HRMLESS differs.
HRMLESS is built for high-volume employers making more than 100 hires a year. If you hire fewer than that, one of the tools below will likely serve you better, and we’d rather say so up front.
HRMLESS vs HappyFleet
Phone screening plus an AI ATS
HappyFleet phones applicants within minutes of applying and screens them over an ordinary call, with no app or browser involved. It’s also sold as a complete AI ATS with published pricing and a free trial, which makes it easy to start without a sales process.
HRMLESS interviews are two-way conversations, recorded on video at no extra cost, so you can see the candidate as well as hear them. Each interview is built around the competencies the role demands and scored against your own top performers. If you’d rather hand off the whole process, our full-service RPO covers everything from the job-board posting to onboarding.
HRMLESS vs Ribbon
AI video interviews with video analysis
Ribbon runs voice and video interviews with real-time follow-up questions, publishes its pricing with a free trial, and offers custom interviewer avatars. If you want AI analysis of the video itself, such as facial expressions, tone and body language, Ribbon is the one to look at.
We deliberately don’t run AI over interview video, because several jurisdictions restrict it. Every HRMLESS interview is still recorded on video for your team to review, but the score comes only from what the candidate said. We hold SOC 2, are independently audited for bias and compliant with NYC Local Law 144, follow the NIST AI RMF, and track AI hiring law state by state, so you can stay compliant as the rules change.
HRMLESS vs Alex
Technical and engineering interviews
Alex runs live, two-way voice and video interviews, including technical screens, coding and system design, and adds identity verification, proctoring, resume screening and scheduling. For engineering and other technical hiring, Alex is the stronger choice.
HRMLESS is built for high-volume hiring of mostly deskless workers, where what matters is how someone will show up and do the job, not whether they can write code. Our interviews dig into the competencies you define for the role and score candidates against the people already succeeding in it.
HRMLESS vs HeyMilo
Multi-channel screening built for agencies
HeyMilo screens over SMS, web forms, voice and video, scores resumes, and produces a cheat-detection trust score. It can be white-labelled and runs inside Bullhorn, Avionte and JobDiva, which makes it a natural choice for agencies and BPOs that want screening under their own brand.
HRMLESS goes deep on one interview instead: a two-way conversation, recorded on video, that digs into the competencies the role requires and scores against your top performers. We reach candidates by SMS and email, connect to your ATS, and can run the whole funnel for you as a full-service RPO.
HRMLESS vs HireVue
Skills and game-based assessment
HireVue is a broad enterprise suite with skills tests, game-based and technical assessments, virtual job tryouts, and video and voice interviewing, backed by a long published research base. If skills or game-based assessment is what you’re after, start with HireVue.
HRMLESS doesn’t test skills in isolation. Our interviews are built around the set of competencies you define as necessary for the role, scored against your own top performers, and sized for high-volume frontline hiring rather than an enterprise-wide assessment program.
